Well at least you don’t HAVE to. Imagine only having to work a maximum of 35 hours a week and being given 5 weeks of paid vacation every year? That’s how it is in France and now they’ve come to an agreement for about a million employees prohibiting work emails after 6pm.
It’s mostly for the tech industry, but the agreement allows staff to shut down their phones and computers after 6 p.m. and not have to worry about checking in.
Part of the deal is that companies can’t pressure or make their employees feel bad about not checking or responding to their email either.
