Maureen Holloway –
SPOTTED IN THE AUDIENCE at last night’s hockey game at Madison Square Garden: Bryan Cranston, fresh off his Tony win as Best Actor, and Robert De Niro, right behind him, on his cell phone, saying “You talkin to ME?”
Cranston won the Tony Sunday night for his portrayal of Lyndon Baines Johnson in a show called All the Way, which Steven Spielberg is considering making into a mini-series for television, also to star Cranston, otherwise why bother.
Also at the Garden for Game 3 were Jimmy Fallon, sporting a Rangers jersey, singer Glenn Frey of The Eagles, and former Rangers great Mark Messier.
Jimmy Fallon is now the acknowledged King of Late Night – his ratings are great – he brings almost a million more viewers in a night than David Letterman, with Jimmy Kimmel in third place. Although … Kimmel gets a major boost from the NBA finals, which air on ABC, and he actually beat the Tonight Show last Thursday, and probably will again tonight. I don’t think NBC is getting the same help from the Stanley Cup.
