This was being passed around social media yesterday. I’m sure a lot of people who hung on to an old $2 bill got excited. Do you still have one?
Well chances are yours is NOT worth big money. The story goes a rare 1986 $2 bill with the wrong signatures on it went up for auction and sold for $10,000. The 1986 $2 bills with the AUG, AUH and AUJ serial numbers should have the signatures of Bank of Canada governor Gerald Bouey and deputy governor John Crow, but some instead have the signatures of incoming Bank of Canada governor John Crow and deputy governor Gordon Thiessen.
If you look on eBay you’ll find old $2 bills are going for…well $2. But it’s worth checking yours if you still have one, you never know.
