Maureen Holloway –
Alex Trebek just set a Guinness World Record for “the most episodes of a show ever hosted by the same presenter.” Trebek hosted his 6,829th episode of “Jeopardy!” last Friday.
The 72 year old Canadian born presenter has hosted the quiz game show since 1984, and says he’ll keep doing it as long as he’s having a good time and his skills haven’t diminished too much. With all due respect, those skills involve reading clues out loud and looking smug because he has all the answers. I’ll take awesome gigs for 10 million, Alex (which is what he reportedly make a year).

A man who really does have all the answers – or a significant number of them, anyway, is theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, who appeared last night on Last week Tonight with John Oliver.
They discussed robots, alternate universes, Charlize Theron and the future of humanity.
Hawking’s life is the subject of a movie due out in the fall called “Theory of Everything”, starring Eddie Redmayne as Hawking and Felicity Jones as his wife Jane. Hawking was married twice – he left Jane, his wife of 25 yeas for his nurse Elaine. Elaine left him in 2006, because she didn’t like his tone.
