5 Things To Know Today - Wednesday June 25, 2014: Luis Suarez bites another player. Controversial Kate Moss T-shirt pulled from The Bay: “Nothing Tastes As Good As Skinny Feels.” Disturbing footage of a young woman reportedly possessed by demonic spirits after playing with ouija board. Gary Oldman offends Hollywood and the Pope.
Some guys just won’t behave, and Luis Suarez is definitely one of them. The Uruguayan footballer has been disciplined twice for biting opposing players, and yet again yesterday, while facing Italy, he clamped down like a vampire! After a run in with Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, Chiellini pulled down his jersey and professed that Suarez had bitten him. Suarez claims his teeth just collided with the Italian’s shoulder. It doesn’t sound like FIFA is buying it though, as they’re thinking of punishing him. Oh, Uruguay won 1-0. Both Italy and England will not move on to the ‘Round of 16’ from Group D.
CONTROVERSIAL KATE MOSS T-SHIRT AT THE BAY
The Hudson’s Bay Co. is pulling a T-shirt from its stores after a massive backlash unfolded on social media. The T-shirt bears the infamous quote of Kate Moss, “Nothing Tastes As Good As Skinny Feels.” The quote is shown inside a mock-up of a nutrition label with the calorie count listed as zero. After igniting heated criticism online, The Bay tweeted that the T-shirt will be removed from stores and online immediately. They later confirmed the garment’s removal in an official statement to The Canadian Press yesterday. The Canadian-born designer of the T-shirt, Christopher Lee Sauve, issued his own statement in wake of the controversy. Sauve said allegations that the shirt is celebrating the severity of eating disorders “is just not the case.” Sauve said that as an artist, he got his start mocking the fashion industry. While he said it’s an industry he’s long followed and admired, it’s also one that “begs to be mocked.”
KFC SCARRED GIRL
Remember that poor little girl, who was supposedly turned away by a KFC restaurant in Mississippi because her face was injured by an attack dog? The 3-year-old received a lot of social media attention, including donations. KFC even apologized, donating $30,000 for Victoria’s treatment. Well, that story may have been a hoax. At least that’s what a local newspaper reported – citing unnamed sources.
‘POSSESSED’ TRIO HOSPITALISED AFTER PLAYING WITH OUIJA BOARD
Disturbing footage of a young woman reportedly possessed by demonic spirits after playing with an old ouija board has emerged online. Alexandra Alvarado Huerta, 22, growls and thrashes around in a trance-like state, while lying strapped to a gurney. Alexandra is said to have fallen into this state after using the board along with her brother Sergio, 23 and their 18-year-old cousin, Fernando Alvarado Cuevas, who has also become ill. The dark event occurred in San Juan Tlacotenco, a village near the town of Tepotzlan in south-western Mexico. Mexico’s El Heroica newspaper claims the family begged for help from a nearby church, but not being regular church-goers, the priest refused to perform an exorcism.

ENOUGH ROPE TO HANG HIMSELF
Maureen Holloway – Actor Gary Oldman is the latest to enter the constant cycle of insult and apology that seems to dominate popular culture these days. Oldman, presumably promoting his latest movie Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, gave an interview to Playboy in which he took on the hypocrisy of Hollywood. Unfortunately for Oldman, he ended up defending Mel Gibson’s anti-semitic remarks, and Alec Baldwin’s homophobic outburst, saying everyone has said something like that at one time or other. Then he dug himself even further to make his point, which somehow led him to say F the pope and called Nancy Pelosi a C-word. Oldman has now issued an apology and released a statement to the Anti-Defamation league, saying he now realizes how insensitive his comments were. No response yet from Nancy Pelosi or the Pope.
