LINDSAY LOHAN SUING GRAND THEFT AUTO
If you’re a fan of the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ series you’ll find this quite entertaining. Lindsay Lohan is suing the makers of the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ video games. The actress says in the latest game of the series there is a character based on her without her permission. Lohan filed her lawsuit Wednesday in a Manhattan court. “Grand Theft Auto V” maker Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. and subsidiary Rockstar Games have declined to comment. Lohan’s lawsuit states the character named Lacey Jonas is an “unequivocal” reference to her. It also states Lohan’s image, voice and clothing styles from her own line are depicted. The game features West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont hotel, where Lohan used to live. The character also needs help skirting paparazzi. “Grand Theft Auto V” topped $800 million in sales on its first day released in September 2013.

THE SHIRTLESS HERO TORONTO NEEDS RIGHT NOW
He’s the shirtless hero Toronto deserves right now. The shirtless hero Toronto needs. An East York jogger has become that of an online legend after he stopped to shout at Rob Ford during the Canada Day parade. The sweaty jogger, who was later identified as Toronto teacher Joe Killoran, wasn’t confronting the mayor about drugs or alcohol. No, he was in search of answer to questions about racist and homophobic remarks Ford made in the past, answers for the mayor’s controversial business dealings. “Answer the questions. People have a million questions about your lying, your corruption. You’re a corrupt, lying, racist homophobe. Answer the people’s questions!” Killoran exlaimed. Brother Doug Ford was quick to shout back at him, saying he was part of another campaign team and needs anger management. “I’m out for a jog, buddy, do I look like I’m with a campaign?” Killoran responded. Killoran, a 35-year-old who teaches history, law and politics at Malvern Collegiate Institute, told the National Post it wasn’t his intention to confront the mayor while out for his jog. “He’s going to come to East York, he’s going to come to my neighbourhood and try to prop up his campaign or get some photo ops,” Killoran said. “I didn’t think that was right when there are all these outstanding questions about him being a racist, a homophobe, feeding corruption that he hasn’t even addressed. He just shows his contempt for everybody all the time.” The teacher told The Post he isn’t involved in any campaigns and isn’t sure who will get his vote come the October 27 election date. “You don’t have to be some partisan maniac to be angry with this mayor,” he said. But Doug Ford had no problem calling Killoran a “left-wing lunatic” when asked about the incident yesterday. Doug Ford told reporters at City Hall he wouldn’t let Killoran teach his dog and suggested he’s teaching students to hate the mayor. The story was picked up by news outlets around the world and it didn’t take long for the hashtag #shirtlessjogger to trend on Twitter. Killoran has won the people. He’s the shirtless hero Toronto needs right now.
‘NEGATIVE’ NEWS FOR ONTARIO
Moody’s credit rating agency has changed Ontario’s debt rating from stable to negative, stating concerns about the province eliminating a $12.5 billion deficit by the scheduled 2017-18 mark. “After several years of weak to moderate economic growth, and higher than previously anticipated deficits projected for the next two years, the province is facing a greater challenge to return to balanced outcomes than previously anticipated,” Moody’s Investors Service said in a statement. The rating change affects debt securities by approximately $250 billion, Moody’s said as it reaffirmed Ontario’s Aa2 ratings. The rating came down with no time to wait for Kathleen Wynne’s Liberal budget on July 14. However, Wynne has said the budget will be identical to the May 1 fiscal plan that was rejected by the opposition, triggering the June 12 election.
THE GRID HAS SHUT DOWN
The future of local newsweeklies in Canada doesn’t look too good after Toronto weekly ‘The Grid’ announced their shutting down. The Torstar paper launched in May, 2011, the successor to Eye Weekly, which had folded a week prior. It was just a few month ago that publisher and editor Laas Turnbull announced a number of changes to The Grid to better reach its target 18-to-34 audience. “We have been desperately trying to distance ourselves from the category of alternative news weekly,” he told Media in Canada. “When people see something kind of tabloid-y and printed on newsprint then that is where their mind automatically goes. We want to set ourselves up as more of a weekly city news magazine, which is sort of how we have always looked at ourselves.” Turnbull noted The Grid made most of its money from its events, rather than from ad sales.
NUDE KATE UPTON SELFIE
A topless photo never requires an introduction, especially when it’s of Kate Upton, but what the hell. The cover girl recently posted a glamorous selfie on Insagram; her nude self, lying in bed, draped only by a see through sheet. “In bed with @mertalas and @macpiggott ❤️❤️❤️❤️#nofilter #becauseiminamazinglight,” wrote the Sports Illustrated swimsuit stunner. The photographers behind the picture are Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, so you can bet to see more of Kate like this in a magazine like Vogue or W. Tough life for the 22-year-old, rolling around in bed all day. No no, that’s not true, Kate is also busy being the Bobbi Brown Cosmetics spokesperson and hanging with her Detroit Tigers boyfriend Justin Verlander. I think she looks stunning! One of her best photos yet!
