Chris Bundas –
This better be the best damn tasting potato salad ever. We’re all fans of campaigns to help people and programs across the world, but this particular Kickstarter campaign is getting a ton of unexpected attention.
Zack Brown of Ohio set a cute goal of $10 on July 3 to make potato salad, not knowing he would reach over $50K in only a few days, and growing. With 24 days to go and almost 5,000 donors, who knows how much potato salad Brown will end up having to make.
Brown initially started the campaign because he simply wanted to make a potato salad, but just wasn’t sure what kind to make.
The power of the Internet can be too much sometimes and his tiny request has been overwhelmed by the thousands and thousands of dollars in donations. Brown is also not sure if he should mail out salads to some people or rent out a party hall to make several recipes.
Whatever he does with the money, we just hope it ends up in a good place (or mouth).
“All these wonderful people are making my dream of spreading joy and humour in the world come true,” Brown told ABC News. ”We’re going to throw a massive party in Columbus [Ohio] and the whole Internet is invited. We are going to do right by the Internet.”
