Oh Nickelback, causing more problems for people.
Two men in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho felt the wrath of Chad’s sweet backhand when they were recently detained, and one handcuffed, by police for uttering the word ‘Nickelback.’
The two men say they were simply commenting on another car that was playing music by the Canadian rock band — and thus committing the real crime — at a gas station when police officers approached them thinking they heard them say “nickel sack” referring to marijuana.
“I said he’s blaring Nickelback. We can literally go over there and stop him and ask which band he was listening to right now.”
The two young men videotaped the interaction occurrence, which quickly changed from hilarious to frightening with one of them exclaiming to the police officer, “Woah, dude, woah, why are you pulling your gun out?” This was followed by the police officer yelling, “Put your fucking hands on the dash.”
According to the Coeur d’Alene Press, neither man was charged. The sheriff’s department is refusing to release the officers’ names but said the matter is being internally investigated.
