Jamie Foxx is going to portray one of the most famous sports figures of this generation. The Oscar wining actor is set to play Mike Tyson, whose life has had extreme ups and downs…
Iron Mike, as he was known, was the heavyweight champion of the late 80’s, but after losing his title in 1990, his life began to spin out of control, including a six-year stint in prison after being found guilty of rape. There, he was known as Ironing Mike Tyson .
Tyson returned to boxing but became more known for his losses, to Lennox Lewis, and, famously, to Evander Holyfield, in which he bit off part of Holyfields’ ear. It was known as the Bite of the Century.
In recent years, Tyson has kept out of trouble, and is probably best known for his appearances in the Hangover movies.
NBC has found its Peter Pan. Alison Williams will star in the title role of the live TV musical, which will be broadcast on Dec. 4.
NBC is looking for the same success they found with last year’s live Sound of Music, which starred Carrie Underwood. (That show was so bad that when the Nazis came to look for the Von trapps, I yelled “They’re hiding in the graveyard!”) But 14 million people watched, so now we have Alison Williams, star of the HBO show Girls, who will sing and fly and never ever grow up.
The good news is that Christopher Walken will play Captain Hook. The other, related, good news is that Christopher Walken will also voice the part of King Louie in the upcoming remake of The Jungle Book.
