The M.V. Jadran, better know as Captain John’s Restaurant on the foot of Yonge St., was sold by a federal court for $33,501 on Thursday, and must now be removed from the waterfront by Aug. 22.
It is not know yet what the new owner plans to do with the ship, which has been vacant since 2012 when the city shut off its water after accumulating over $500,000 in unpaid.
The boat’s former owner Ivan “John” Letnik had previously challenged the unpaid debt, claiming that the boat was in the water, not on Toronto land, and therefore shouldn’t be charged property taxes.
Derringer has an idea on how to get rid of the ship… it involves RPG’s!
