AUDIT FINDS FENNELL AND STAFF VIOLATED SPENDING RULES 265 TIMES
A forensic audit has found that Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell and her staff breached a number of the city’s spending rules 265 times for expenses such as premium hotel rooms, airfare and personal expenses. Deloitte Canada released the audit after a four-month investigation that found Fennell and her staff responsible for $131,581 in improper charges and expenses that have not been reimbursed and another $155,952 in charges and expenses that may have breached city rules, however not enough information was provided by Fennell or the city to make a determination. Fennell released a statement late Thursday night in which she accepts much of what the report states, and plans to speak more on it today. “I have the privilege and the honour of being the mayor of this great city, and the buck stops here – with me. I accept responsibility for all that I do as mayor of Brampton, positive and less positive,” Fennell wrote. “If there are changes that need to be made, I will make them and I will work with my colleagues on council to ensure that they, too, accept responsibility for their shortcomings. That is what we all must do, to better serve Brampton.”

Sears says it will provide a full refund for sets that are returned with a sales receipt or Sears Canada statement and a partial refund without a receipt. The Joe Boxer Eat Sleep Play sets were sold between January and July at Sears Canada stores. A Health Canada website says about 1,800 of the pyjama sets were sold in Canada.
