STINTZ DROPS OUT OF MAYORAL RACE
With sagging poll numbers and struggling to raise funds to keep her afloat, Karen Stintz announced yesterday that she is dropping out of Toronto’s mayoral race. She also confirmed that her career in politics is now over, saying it’s “time for a new chapter.”

TIM LEIWEKE LEAVING MLSE
Tim Leiweke announced yesterday that he will be stepping down as President and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment as of Jun 30, 2015. Leiweke’s future with MLSE was a hot topic this week after rumours spread that he would “soon” be leaving the company. He denied the report, called the rumours a distraction and said he was focused on the teams’ current and upcoming seasons. Turns out the rumours were true.
SNEEK PEAK OF NEW TTC STREETCAR
You can’t ride the new streetcars until the end of the month, but a new TTC video gives you a preview of what you can soon expect. In the seven-minute video TTC CEO Andy Byford and Spokesperson Brad Ross take youon a tour of one of the new streetcars, pointing out all the new impressive features. Byford also gives a demonstration on how to use a new button to open the exterior doors as riders will be expected to do when boarding at less busy stops. The first of the streetcars will begin serving the 510 Spadina route on Aug. 31.
ROB FORD MASKS ARE THE NEW CRAZE
The latest craze are latex Mayor Rob Ford, or #ROFO, masks. They have been a massive seller at the Amazing Party and Costume in Toronto. People have taken to social media with it and are using it for pub crawls. The mask retails for $29.99. It’s sure to be a hit come Halloween.
