Vogue has given Toronto’s West Queen West neighbourhood some high praising in this month’s magazine issue, ranking it as the second “coolest” neighbourhood in the world.
Toronto’s hipster neighbourhood fell just behind Shimokitazawa, Tokyo — rated number 1– out of 15 on the magazine’s September list. West Queen West was recognized for its “verifiable artery of indie patisseries,” “homegrown labels” and “hidden-from-view galleries.”
Landmarks mentioned in Vouge’s article include The Drake Hotel, The Gladstone and the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art.
Canal Saint-Martin in Paris and Silver Lake in Los Angeles also got a tip of the cap as some of the world’s “coolest” neighbourhoods.
