What’s better than waking up and driving to a Tim Hortons for that first morning coffee? Walking across the street to you #TimsNextDoor.
Tim Hortons surprised an Oakridge neigbourhood by providing coffee IN the house, yes, literally in the house.
The southwestern Calgary community woke up to find a local home fully transformed into a Tim Hortons store.
“Yesterday it was a house, today it is a Tim Hortons, an operating restaurant,” said Doug Gunn, director of marketing for Tim Hortons, to Alberta reporters.
The transformation of the house began on Sunday, but it wasn’t until Tuesday morning, complete with the neon Tim Hortons sign over the garage, did people realize what had been going on. The pop-up coffee shop also featured a front counter and donut display case, as well as tables and chair for those who prefer to dine-in.
The event — which lasted from 6 a.m. to noon — was a fun way to attract new hires for the company that’s looking to fill 2,000 positions across the province, Gunn explained. Gunn was pleased to say the response from the community has been “amazing.”
“People have been coming in, asking if we can go to their neighbourhood next time.”
Let’s hope the put together a promotion in the GTA like this — I’ll let them use my home no problem!!!
