The battle for the Ward 2 council seat just got real personal.
Ward 2, Etobicoke North, Candidate Andray Domise arrived at rival Mayor Rob Ford’s house yesterday morning with a gift basket in hand, intending to support the mayor who is recovering from his first round of chemotherapy.
When Domise knocked on the door, Renata opened to then quickly slam it.

Domise left the gift on the front porch and spoke to the media saying he’s not sure how saying get well soon could be a political move.
Doug Ford has repeatedly asked for privacy for his brother and received an upset call from his wife saying the media was outside their house, “I don’t know if I have to plead or beg. Please just leave Rob alone.”

Was it in poor taste for Domise to drop off a gift basket at the Ford home? Can a gift from a rival ever be genuine? Do you think this was a political move on his part, a way to make him look like a victim of being a “nice guy.” May it have backfired?
However, Domise did say, when the election is over, we all have to go back to being neighbours.
