There’s an online search for a “Leprechaun” looking hipster douchebag who allegedly assaulted a woman on a crowded TTC bus for asking him nicely to remove his bag that was taking up an empty seat.
The man dubbed the “leprechaun,” for his green shirt, bowler hat and beard, has instantly become one of the most high-profile examples of shaming someone for poor TTC etiquette via social media.
On Facebook yesterday, Brenda Davie shared her story, explaining that she was taking the packed 72 Pape bus after work when she asked the “leprechaun” if he could remove his bag from a seat so that she could sit down:
According to her Facebook post, the man responded by saying, “No, my bag is there.”
She then quoted him saying, “get the f*** away from me airhead the seat is occupied” and accused him of stomping on her foot and pushing her into a group of people.
Davie’s post has been shared over 7,200 times on Facebook and has even drawn the attention of the TTC, which is now probing the incident, CTV News reported.
Why don’t people have manners anymore? Would you move your backpack for someone who wanted to sit down on the TTC? Would you want to see someone like this fined? Should someone else have stepped in and helped this woman? Come to her defense? What are some of your experiences with rude/ignorant people?
