In this day and age, it was only a matter of time before Ebola disease hit North America.
Health officials confirmed yesterday that a patient in a Dallas hospital is currently being treated as the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States.
The unidentified man left Liberia on September 19 and arrived in the United States on September 20.
He is currently isolated and under intensive care.
The crew that transported him to the hospital has also been isolated. A handful of people are believed to have been in contact with the patient after he started showing symptoms.
A CDC team is heading to Texas to investigate.
Should those arriving in Canada from anywhere in West Africa be quarantined at the airport – or even turned away from staying here since this ebola virus has arrived in north America?
