Do you think these baby onesies are offensive?
University of Waterloo professor Christine Logel does. She found these onesies while on a shopping trip at Target recently.
She snapped a photo, uploaded it on to social media and said, “Sadly, I was not surprised. I have come across things like this before, but I expected better of Target.”
The CBC tells us here that “Logel posted the photo on her Facebook page, hoping to attract attention to what she felt was a troubling message. A fellow professor, Aimee Morrison, then offered to tweet the photo in order to galvanize her followers, many of whom share an interest in comics and feminism. Morrison is an English language and literature professor.”
Here’s another example from a different store:
Should these onesies be pulled from the shelves, or do people need to settle down and laugh a little more? Why is all the outrage towards Target when stores like Walmart, The Bay, Winners etc. carry things like this as well?
