According to a 2013 CRTC report, Canadians are paying MORE for cable, cellphone, home phone & internet services!
On average, the CRTC says Canadian families spent $191 per month for cable, home phone, cellphone and Internet services, which is up 3.2% from $185 per month in 2012.
Cable and satellite spending increased $1.54 to $53.56 per month; cellphone services were up $1.91 to $69.33 per month and Internet services leaped $4.42 to $35.37 per month. However, home phone services decreased by 5.8%/$2.01 to $32.85 per month.
The CRTC attributes the higher costs of cellphone and Internet plans to people usage of wireless data and higher broadband Internet upgrades.
