It’s a brand new day in Toronto – in some ways…
We have a new mayor, much to the disappointment of American talk show hosts. In fact, John Oliver begged us to elect Doug Ford so that we could offer up some more comedic fodder for the next four years, but to no avail.
However, we are not done with the scandal, as the Jian Ghomeshi kerfuffle has made the news south of the border, where the radio program he hosted up until last week airs on some 170 public radio stations.
In New York’s Vulture magazine, and in a lengthy piece on Gawker, various wags have weighed in on the situation. There have been comparisons to Marv Albert and Clarence Clemons.
So Toronto the good is still in the hot seat: From a crack smoking mayor to an alleged sexually deviant radio talk show host … who launched a 55 million dollar lawsuit against the CBC yesterday – 25 for breach of confidence, 25 for defamation, and 5 for fuzzy handcuffs.
