Just as he predicted, the details in the Jian Ghomeshi scandal are coming in fast and furious, and they are not pleasant. At least 8 women have come forward, claiming to have been physically abused by the CBC radio star, including Trailer Park Boys actress Lucy DuCoutere, the first, but presumably not the last woman, who has allowed herself to be identified.
I have not seen anything where CBC smears Jian or offers anything other than the facts that they parted ways. Why is Ghomeshi so defensive?— lucy decoutere (@lucydecoutere) October 27, 2014
Two of the women who allege they were physically assaulted, also say that before the alleged assaults he introduced them to Big Ears Teddy, a stuffed bear, and he turned the bear around just before he allegedly slapped or choked them, saying that “Big Ears Teddy shouldn’t see this.” I’ve seen that movie, and I’m thinking the bear may have been partially responsible.
A woman — anonymously — who claims she was hit by Jian Ghomeshi speaks with the CBC:
In any case, it does not look good for Ghomeshi, who is suing the CBC for 55 million dollars for letting him go. His career would seem to be over, here and elsewhere, as the story is getting international coverage. And good luck getting a date.
