Queen Streetcar Transforms into “Pan Am Express”
In anticipation of tickets going on sale today, TTC riders were given a surprise on Saturday.
Both former and current athletes transformed the 501 Queen Streetcar into the Pan Am Express for three hours, promoting the upcoming games.
Athletes like Curt Harnett, three-time Olympic medalist in track cycling, and Rose Cossar, London 2012 Olympian and three-time medal winner at the 2011 Pan Am Games for gymnastics, were on board the car posing for selfies with riders and distributing Pan Am swag.
Among the swag was Pachi the Porcupine, Toronto’s official mascot for the games. His 41 quills represent the 41 countries who will be competing in the games.
The games will run next July 10-26th.
