Mo's Digital Last Word: BROWN LIKE HIM
Speaking of brown Torontonian men who have reached the pinnacle of success, comedian Russell Peters is playing – wait for it – Madison Square Garden on December 11.
He’s played, to name a few, Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, and London’s O2 Arena.
In 2013, Forbes estimated that Peters took in $21 million, a figure that put him just behind Jerry Seinfeld as the best-earning comics in the world Peters, however, isn’t as happy as he could be.
In an interview with Vulture magazine, he says Hollywood – in terms of movies and TV series – won’t go near him.
He says other comedians resent him, and that there’s room for only one Indian man in comedy, and that man is Aziz Ansari.
Call me crazy, but if Peters didn’t just play the brown card in his comedy act, he’d have so many other comedians to hate.
Yall pray for him.
