The Rolling Stones were the bad boys of rock in comparison to The Beatles, The Who were trashing hotel rooms and you know the whole car in the swimming pool incident so this is a sure sign that you’re not part of that rebellious rocker group anymore.
Motley Crue sold some of their concert tickets on Groupon. Groupon is a deal-of-the-day website that features discounted gift certificates usable at local or national companies. People get discounts on everything from golf lessons, to salon treatments on it so when a rock group with a sex drugs and rock an roll image uses it to sell concert tickets I think they lose some of that rebellious image.
It was a great deal for their fans. They sold tix for their August 12th gig at Barclays Center in Brooklyn prices were dropped to $29 for upper-tier spots (down from up to $90 initially), and all of the 538 tickets sold out.
