Mo's Digital Last Word: WE CALLED SAUL
It may be Tuesday, but we’re still talking about Sunday, and the embarrassment of riches that television bestowed upon us.
AMC is doing backflips over Better Call Saul!
The drama brought in the biggest premiere ratings ever for a cable series, ever!
Did I say ever?
It didn’t hurt that it had a strong lead in from The Walking Dead, which had its mid-season premiere.
Saul moved to Mondays last night with its second episode, so we’ll see how it does over there.
Better Call Saul debuted with 6.9 million viewers and 4.4 million adults 18-49. The previous high for a cable premiere in the demo was USA’s “The Dead Zone” in 2002 with 4 million viewers in the demo.
The Grammys, however, scored its smallest demo ratings in six years. Sunday’s show drew 25.3 million viewers and averaged an 8.5 rating among adults under 50, which is a little under last year’s numbers.
