HAN SOLO DOWN
Harrison Ford was injured in a small plane crash in Los Angeles yesterday. The 72-year-old crash-landed his vintage plane on a Venice golf course, suffering gashes to his head, but was listed in fair condition in hospital.
Ford reported engine failure shortly after takeoff and told air-traffic controllers he was returning to the airport before crash-landing his plane on the nearby Penmar golf course in.
In a communication with the tower at Santa Monica Airport, the pilot said he was having engine failure Thursday afternoon and was making an “immediate return.” That’s according to a recording made public on the website LiveATC.net.
The vintage World War II training plane went down on Penmar golf course in Venice shortly after. Ford was the only person on board the plane at the time and it’s claimed he suffered wounds to his head .
Fire officials have since said the he sustained moderate injuries. The 72 year old was been piloting planes for years and has been involved in several crashes in the past.
His son Ben, a chef in Los Angeles, tweeted that his dad is OK, battered but OK. You see, he was protected by his crusty exterior.
The probable truth is that Harrison Ford tried to fly the Millennium Falcon without Chewbacca…
