This has become pretty popular in Buffalo and more cities are showing interest in Ice Bikes. It’s a 26-inch bike that sits on a rectangular base with a duller blade replacing the front wheel. Stainless steel so they don’t rust in the snow, they ride like a regular bicycle, only without the need to balance. Riders brake by pedaling backward.
Their website reads:
Buffalo’s newest Canalside attraction, Ice Bikes of Buffalo, a division of Water Bikes of Buffalo LLC, combines the activity of riding a bike along with the ability to perform this feat while on the surface of the ice. Ice Bikes of Buffalo will give you a way to participate on the ice if you are not the best on ice skates. This stable unit allows you to pedal and steer your way around the rink in the same manner as you would if you were going for a traditional bike ride.
Would be great here if there was a rink big enough.
