Pitch Perfect 2 races past Mad Max in box office opening weekend
If you thought that a story of a group of women who band together to kick butt and exact revenge in a barren wasteland won the box office this weekend, you’d be right.
Except that wasteland would be the cut throat world of acapella singing, and the movie is “Pitch Perfect 2”, which edged out “Mad Max: Fury Road”, and raked in $70 million .
“Mad Max: Fury Road”, which stars Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy, did not disappoint: it made 45 million domestically.
Director George Miller says there’s already a sequel planned and it’ll be called “Mad Max: The Wasteland.” I would call it Max Max: Even Madder, or Mad Max: Don’t Make me Come back There, but who’s asking.
