Drivers get creative to bypass HOV lane restrictions
Tired of watching motorists using one of the special Pan Am Games HOV Lanes while you crawl along in bumper-to-bumper traffic?
Shai Azoulay can help! The North York resident is renting out mannequins at $40/month via an ad on Kijiji. He’s seen a spike in inquiries since the HOV lanes were activated earlier this week.
He said he has no problem selling these things to people attempting to bend the rules.
Cops say they will do their best to nail people attempting to fake additional passengers.
However, no extra fines or demerit points will be added if somebody is caught with lifeless occupants in their vehicle.

Two People To Sit in Your Car During Pan Am Games
Also, childhood friends Kris Chaput and Michael Burton from Georgetown are offering their services to be passengers so drivers can use HOV lanes during the Pan Am Games.
As of yesterday, more than 4,500 people have visited the Kijiji ad posted only 2 days earlier.
They’re charging $55 per hour, one way into Toronto.
Below is what there Kijiji ad reads:
Pan am games are here, you hate traffic? Of course you do!
My close friend and I are willing to sit in your car during rush hour traffic for you to utlize the HOV lanes that are currently in effect. You need two people, we are a package deal. We charge $55 per way, for a max of one hour. We also are great conversationalists, and are willing to discuss current events, politics, and the increasing income gap that will one day plague the world.
Pick up is in georgetown, but if we are in the area we can schedule something up.
Edit: because of the high demand of our work, we need to be able to snack. We also would like to have a say in exactly 50 per cent of the playlist while driving.
Edit2: Hey everyone! Kris and I would like to offer a special discounted ride for this Friday morning. We are going to drop the price down to $30 for this day, and this day only. We’d also be interested in trades for old Nintendo games and tattoos. Be prepared to discuss capitalism and the fundamental problems of Big Data running rampant in the technological world we currently live in. Shoot us an email we don’t bite!
