Can you imagine a cop giving you a ticket for a broken windshield in the parking lot of the auto glass repair shop?
A day after a vandal had thrown a rock at his windshield, Nick Berlin made an appointment at a Denver auto glass shop to have it replaced. Just as he was about to pull into the auto glass shop, a sheriff’s deputy pulled him over and issued him a ticket for an “unsafe vehicle.” The ticket was issued in the parking lot of the auto glass repair place (Absolute Auto Glass). No warning, no “ok you’re getting it fixed so I’ll let you off this time”. Geez.
The story does end on a positive note: The owner of the auto glass place said he would cover Berlin’s $46 dollar ticket if a judge doesn’t dismiss the citation.
Whose side would you take?
