Trump’s SNL Appearance “Huge!” Beats Cyrus/Clinton Numbers
Early results from Nielsen’s reveal Donald Trump’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live” were solid.
Last night’s episode the series highest ratings since January 2012.
The Republican U-S presidential hopeful’s hosting gig was met with controversy as protesters marched outside N-B-C’s studio in New York saying Trump’s statements about immigration are racist and offensive.
NBC say Nielsen recorded a 6.6 household rating, which bettered every SNL episode this season and had 47% higher viewership than the week Miley Cyrus and Hillary Clinton appeared.
Last night the highest-rated episode of the show since January 7, 2012, when Charles Barkley hosted with musical guest, Kelly Clarkson.
Trump’s episode had more than 10 million total viewers about 4 million more than the Cyrus/Clinton episode, the season’s previous high, which drew 6.3 million viewers.
Official numbers will be released by Nielsen later in the week.
