2 Dead After Police Raid Apartment Where Mastermind of Paris Attacks Believed To Be Hiding
Two people are dead and four officers are injured following a raid at a suburban Paris apartment. Officers surrounded the area in Saint-Denis following reports the suspected mastermind of Friday’s attack was holed up in the location. The standoff began before dawn on Wednesday, lasting more than five hours later. One woman wearing an explosive vest died after detonating the bomb on herself. One man was also killed and seven people were arrested in the standoff. 7-year-old Belgian Malinois named Diesel, a SWAT team assault dog, was also “killed by the terrorists” during the raid, police said in a tweet. Senior officials believed Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the man thought to have orchestrated the deadly co-ordinated attacks, was inside the apartment with five other heavily armed people. No hostages were being held. Officers say eight people were directly involved in the attacks – 7 who died carrying them out, with another, Salah Abdeslam, still at large. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which killed 129 people.

Two Air France planes en route to Paris from the United States have been diverted after bomb threats made from the ground. One Flight from Washington has landed at Halifax Stan-field Airport in Nova Scotia. RCMP officers and emergency services were on the ground when the plane touched down but it has landed safely. All 298 passengers and crew are said to have exited the plane and been taken to a secure area in the airport. A second plane from Los Angeles to Paris has landed safely in Salt Lake City. Air France has confirmed that both flights, #AF55 and #AF65 were diverted due to threats. It’s not yet known if the threats were called in by the same person or persons.
Man With Concealed Knife Arrested on Parliament Hill

Police will only say the suspect was arrest outside the centre block and that he is in custody. To no surprise, security on Parliament Hill has been tightened since a shootout 13-months ago, when a gunman killed a soldier at the National War Memorial before being gunned down himself while storming the centre block.
