Spirit of the West's John Mann attempting to raise $50000 for medical treatment
John Mann ( Spirit of The West) is one of Canada’s best known and most beloved musical figures, but Early Onset Alzheimer’s disease has hit him hard.
Just over a year ago, the lead singer John Mann revealed he had been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease.
Earlier this month, Spirit of the West announced their final show, April 2016 at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom.
John & his wife Jill have taken every possible treatment, every step that the British Columbia medical system can offer.
At this point, they’re only option left is with an experimental stem cell therapy, which is not possible in BC and is extremely expensive. A course of this treatment can cost up to $50,000.
The Mann family is looking for help from Canadian to afford this treatment. If you want to help with the fundraising effort for John Mann, please click here.

Our friend John Mann from Spirit of the West needs our help. He gave us so much when we were starting out, and has remained a loyal and true friend. Now it's our turn. Here's a link explaining how you can help and why. And to celebrate his amazing tunes, we recorded a cover of one of our favourites. https://www.generosity.com/medical-fundraising/support-for-john-mann-of-spirit-of-the-westSpecial thanks to Paul Hahn & Co. - Toronto's Piano Store Since 1913 for the use of their space and amazing Bluthner Style 2 Grand Piano.Posted by Julian Taylor Band on Wednesday, December 16, 2015
