If your 2016 calendar has a big vacation on it you may already be feeling happy with anticipation.
Sadly, a study in the Netherlands found the happiness will peak during the trip and be gone when you arrive home. Yeah, that stinks. The study showed that people who took vacations were most happy before a trip, but no happier than non-vacationers after a trip. Anticipation, the researchers suggested, was what had the biggest effect on happiness.
Sounds about right. Makes you feel a little bit better when your co-workers return all tanned from a trip down south that you can’t afford to take.
