Q107 Parent Company Involved In Major Media Deal
The parent company of Q107 has announced a major acquisition.
Corus Entertainment has entered into agreement to buy Shaw Media from Shaw Communications Inc. in deal worth $2.6 billion.
The deal means Corus will pick up Shaw’s leading brands, including HGTV Canada, Slice, Food Network Canada, National Geographic Canada, and Global News.
The combined portfolio will consist of 39 radio stations, 45 specialty TV channels, digital assets and over one dozen conventional TV stations.
The agreement is subject to approval by not only the CRTC, but Corus shareholders as well.
