Steven Avery, the focus of the Netflix docuseries Making A Murderer everyone is talking about, has filed an appeal asking a judge to throw out his conviction for the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.
In his appeal Avery claims the jury was tainted because one juror had it in for him and repeatedly told the other jurors that he was “f—ing guilty”. He also states in the document the search that ultimately produced incriminating evidence, including blood and the key to Halbach’s vehicle, was illegal. He says the search exceeded the limits set by the search warrant itself.
And he claims Halbach’s vehicle was not properly sealed with tamper-proof tape, allowing cops to open and close the doors and plant evidence.
Shockingly Avery, who filed the docs himself, also claims his lawyers incompetently represented him… Not Dean Strang and Jerry Buting??? They were the best.
Meantime Brendan Dassey’s half brother Brad Dassey has recorded what he describes as a Christian hip hop song in support of the two.
Brendan Dassey is Steven Avery’s nephew who was also convicted of the murder of Teresa Halbach. His lawyers are currently fighting to get Brendan a new trial
For the rest of the story you really need to watch Making A Murderer, you won’t regret it.
