How would you feel if someone took a selfie with something of yours, although it was on public property, and won a free $5000 vacation? A woman in north Wales was NOT happy at all.
David Bellis, of Prestatyn, north Wales, took his three-year-old son, Jacob, out for a walk near their home. They snapped a photo with this extremely photogenic horse along the way and entered it in a contest to win a free vacation.
Fun right? Not for the owner of the horse, Nicola Mitchell, who was angry that he didn’t get her permission to take the photo let alone enter it in a contest. She commented if she had known about the contest she would have entered her own photo with her horse. She contacted the company, Thomson Holidays, who gave away the trip trying to have it taken away from David Bellis.
David argued the path they were on was a public path and it’s a trip not cash so it’s not something you can split in half.
The travel company has said that David Bellis will indeed keep the vacation.
