Any snow we got last week melted pretty quickly on Saturday when the temperature hit double digits. That’s why I’m surprised this family in Long Island has been able to keep this 10 ft snowman together.
The Fregoe family from Massapequa Park, Long Island is repeating last year’s attempt to keep their snowman going until mid April. They started a Save the Snowman campaign on Facebook last year asking people to send snow donations. Their snowman has peaked at 14 ft through donations this year and is down to about 10ft but they’re hoping to keep it up until April 20th.
It’s become a bit of a tourist attraction in the area with the family dressing it up and people stopping by to take selfies.
The only snow we could donate at this point is that “snirt” snow/dirt mix you see on the side of the road that just won’t melt.
