On List-o-mania, Derringer and Ryan found out which Canadian places are most photographed in each province. The results are based on how many are shared from each location on the photo sharing site, Instagram.
B.C. – Grouse Mountain
Alberta – Lake Louise
Also on lists of the country’s most beautiful golf courses, Lake Louise is breathtaking. As Derringer says, “You can see deer drinking in ponds, and rams mating in the background.” “How could they not?” Ryan asks.
Saskatchewan – University of Saskatchewan
Though there are some nice architectural features at the campus, one wonders if there just aren’t a lot of photo ops in Saskatchewan.
Manitoba – Lake Winnipeg
Holding a place in Derringers heart, Lake Winnipeg is also home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Canada; Grand Beach.
Quebec – The Bell Centre
Ryan points out that the most Instagrammed locations in America are race tracks and baseball diamonds, which also have sponsor names. Derringer wonders if Quebec residents also exclaim; “Let’s take a picture of the place named after our favourite corporate institution!”
Watching the match from this lodge reminds me of EA Sport's NHL video game. Go Habs Go!!! #GOHABSGO #bleublancrouge #canadiens #centrebell #game #hockey #habs #habsfan #habsnation #ilovehockey #mtl #montreal #nhl #Buffalo #Sabers #instaphoto #instagood #instamood #instahockey #easports #easportsnhl #bringsbackmemories
Newfoundland and Labrador – Marble Mountain
Nova Scotia – Cabot Trail
A long stretch of beauty, the trail also has opportunities for bikers to pull off and take photos in look-out areas.
New Brunswick – Chocolate Cove
The name of the cove sounds delicious before you even see it. Derringer muses it “sounds like something you’d try to find at the Playboy mansion in ’75.” To Instagrammers, it’s even more attractive.
Prince Edward Island – Cavendish Beach
“What’s better than potatoes on the beach?” Ryan wonders. To photographers in PEI there’s nothing better.
Northwest Territories – Aurora Village
Also, the NW Territories are home to the most stolen licence plates, because of the nice imagery that decorates even the bumpers of cars.
Yukon – Yukon Wildlife Preserve
Nunavut – Baffin Island
Any guesses? The winning location here is Niagara Falls.
After Quebec, Derringer feared the most Instagrammed place in Ontario would be Ted Rogers’ summer cottage. Thankfully we have the beauty of the Falls.
