Road Closures This Weekend
This could end up being a very frustrating weekend for drivers in the city.
The Toronto Marathon goes on Sunday, and it comes with a long list of road closures.
Police will be stationed at all major intersections to help direct traffic.
The race begins at Mel Lastman’s Square at 7:30 a.m., then moves to Yonge Street, eventually winding up at Ontario Place.
Ramps from Highway 401 to southbound Yonge Street should be re-opened by 10:00 a.m.
For those travelling along Bloor Street, Danforth Avenue, Queen Street, and Dundas Street, those will remain open for uninterrupted east-west traffic.
Some 14, 000 runners from more than 50 countries are taking part.
Organizers are looking to raise $1.2M this year for local charities.
