Raising Awareness About Prostate Cancer
Did you know that prostate cancer among Canadian Men is the most commonly diagnosed cancer, representing about 24% of all new cancer cases.
With scary statistics like this growing each year, the need to get the word out on prostate cancer is ever essential.
But talking about cancer can be difficult, thinking about it happening to you – even more so.
Prostate Cancer is not at the forefront of everyday discussions when it comes to cancer, but it should be considering it is so wide spread.
So, how do you raise awareness to stubborn ol’ dad, who refuses to go to the doctor no matter the symptom.
Well, considering Father’s Day is just a few days away and we’re already talking about men and their families, now would be the perfect time to raise awareness and funds to help protect men from prostate cancer.
It’s really that simple – all you have to do is wear plaid!
It doesn’t get much more Canadian than rocking a plaid shirt and #PlaidForDad is a fun way to help protect fathers from prostate cancer!
Like many other Canadians will be doing, help spread awareness by simply wearing plaid to work leading up to Father’s Day.
On Friday June 17th join people across the country and wear Plaid for Dad to work. Whether it’s a shirt, a tie, a scarf, or even a suit – if it’s plaid it’ll work!
The goal is to have offices and workplaces filled with employees in plaid. Take pictures, share them on social media with the hashtag #PlaidForDad to get it trending and you’ll be helping protect the 1 in 8 men who will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
