Music, food and culture in all parts of the city will keep you busy this week: July 4th to 10th.
It’s that time of the year again where our favorite restaurant pimp out the prefixe menus and those hard to afford locations are suddenly on everyone’s radar. From July 8 to the 24 over 220 Toronto restaurants will be participating and it is recommended that you book your reservations as soon as possible so you don’t miss out.
Taking place July 9th and 10th this food event held at the Chinese Cultural Centre showcases what Toronto chefs do best; creating amazing and delicious food. Enjoy a Fancy Franks hot dog or a cool glass of freshly squeezed lemonade. Admission is free but guest are encouraged to make a small donation.
Fans of all things gore and horror can take a trip down the QEW to the Dark Carnival Horror Expo in Hamilton, Ontario. Running two day, July 9th and 10th fans can meet their favorite authors, directors and big names like Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) and George Romero (Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow).
One of the largest free African Music Festival in North America touches down in Woodbine Park July 9th and 10th. Two days of food, music, dance, arts and crafts all celebrating African culture.
Travel on up to Orillia to take in the Mariposa Folk Festival July 8th to 10th. Over 350 popular and up and coming folk artists will be performing on over 12 stages in this gorgeous lakefront setting.
The streets of St Clair avenues steams up when Salsa on St. Clair swivels it’s hips. This 2 day festival about all things Latin offers up salsa lessons, authentic cuisines and lots of sexy beats July 9th and 10th.
The Lumineers, The Cult, Duran Duran, Future and The Red Hot Chili Peppers are only a few amazing band playing the Ottawa Jazz festival running from July 7th to 17th. Tickets are still available for many of these great shows.
Blue Mountain, Collingwood and Thornbury are ready to rock with this 4 days festival starting July 6th and running till July 10th. Juno winners Whitehorse will be performing along with so many great Canadian artists.
