Lionel Messi and His Father Found Guilty of Tax Fraud
A judge in Barcelona has handed down suspended sentences to soccer superstar Lionel Messi and his father, Jorge Horacio Messi, for tax fraud.
The sentences will be for a duration of 21 months after Messi and his dad were both found guilty on three counts each.
Sentences that are less than two years in length for a first time offence is suspended, which means both men will not have to serve time in prison.
Messi is an Argentine professional soccer player who is as a forward for the Spanish club in Barcelona.
Most critics and fans consider him to be the best player in the world and he is also rated by many as the greatest of all time.
