Your office desk can be a reflection of you. Money.com says we should consider removing the following items from full view at work. I don’t agree with everything on this list. You? Do you have any of these? What about your co-workers?
Racy Photos: Snapshots of your best friend’s drunken bachelor or bachelorette party do not belong on your office desk.
Proselytizing messages: Keeping a copy of the Bible on your desk is fine. Posting a banner on your cubicle wall that urges others to join your faith is not.
Goofy figurines: Feel free to display your troll doll collection on your office desk if you work at a toy store. Otherwise leave the dolls at home.
Fan Shrines: Think before you adorn your office walls with Harry Potter posters or Star Wars action figures.
Your child’s artwork: It’s fine to be proud of your son or daughter’s tissue-paper collage, but do you need to display 10 of them on your office wall?
Political images: Everyone has their political favorites. But sometimes it’s best to keep those preferences out of the workplace.
Fragrance diffusers You might like the smell of jasmine-scented reed sticks, but that doesn’t mean your co-workers have to follow suit.
Leftovers Leftover pot roast or chicken curry kept on your office desk for hours is not only unsightly; it can create an unpleasant odor. Remember to discard any uneaten food and containers after lunch.
