Tell it to your boss, but it probably won’t make a difference… A new study from the University of Melbourne says that working a typical 40-hour plus work week over the age of 40 could impair cognitive function.
For the elderly, working can be great for the brain but not if it means long hours. The study found that people over the age of 40 who worked more than 25 hours a week experienced a decline in cognition. However, those who maintained a part-time work schedule of 25 hours or less experienced the opposite.
Don’t work so hard. I know, easier said than done.
