The Annual Teddy Bear Fair runs Saturday, August 6th at Whittamore’s Farm in Markham.
This family-fun event helps to raise much needed money to support young cancer patients, whose families are in need of financial assistance.
Families will enjoy a Teddy Bear Clinic, wagon rides, magic show, games, crafts, balloon artist, a Teddy Bear Retail Village and full access to Whittamore’s Farm, 8100 Steeles Avenue E, Markham.
The Foundation is also a major provider of toys to hospitals for pediatric cancer patients and also sends children to camp when they feel well enough to attend.
Kids just want to be kids again.
Many people do not realize that living with cancer is expensive – up to 91% of families experience financial difficulty and are reluctant to talk about this reality.
Insurance co-pays are plentiful, many people do not have health benefits and the basic expenses of daily living often go unmet, resulting in eviction notices and utilities being shut off.
The Cancer Recovery Project provides relief for the myriad of non-medical expenses associated with cancer.
The Fair runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. and families can stay for as long as they wish.
Pre-registration is encouraged; however, drop-in visitors are accepted.
