It’s official, August 2016 was the hottest August on record in the GTA.
The mean temperature for the month stands at 24.4 C, beating the previous record of 23.8 C set in 1959.
Meanwhile, the summer 2016 was the second hottest on record with 36 days of over 30 C temperatures, second only to the record of 44 day, also set in 1959.
The start of September has seen a drop in temperatures, with a high of just 23 forecast for Thursday, September 1st, but we are set to see a return of the heat and humidity over the Labour Day weekend.
On Sunday, the high will be near 27 C, but feeling closer to 30 C with the humidity, while the high for Monday is set at 30 C, feeling like 35 C.
