It must be clear to Netflix that their subscribers are addicted to “Narcos.”
Barely a week after releasing Season 2 of the series, centred on cocaine drug lord Pablo Escobar, Netflix confirmed “Narcos” has been extended for another two seasons. Of course, Season 2 will see the demise of Mr. Escobar, so there will be a new focus for Seasons 3 and 4, including a look at the wider global cocaine business.
Netflix announced José Padilha and Eric Newman will continue as executive producers of the series, which will debut Season 3 sometime next year.
“Narcos” chronicles the real-life stories of drug kingpins and how law enforcement agencies eventually were able to take them down. The show also dives into the several conflicting forces — legal, political, police, military and civilian — that complicate the effort to control the illegal drug trade.
