Greta Zimmer Friedman, the woman in the iconic photo of a sailor in Times Square kissing a lady in celebration of the end of World War II, has died at the age of 92.
Friedman died in a Virginia hospital on Thursday from from complications of old age, according to her son, Joshua Friedman.
At the time of the iconic photo, Mrs. Friedman was a 21-year-old dental assistant.
