Comedian Louis C.K. is taking extreme measures to fight back against scalpers and it’s working. He sent out a warning to fans to NOT buy tickets from secondary ticket sellers because there’s a good chance he would cancel the seat and you’d be out the money.
The warning was for upcoming shows in Vancouver Dec. 7 and 8. Tickets are pretty reasonable at $50 all in and he wants to keep it that way. Louis C.K. is known for sticking it to ticket resellers who try to profit from his shows.
He posted this message on his website…
“Regarding ticket resale: we take great efforts and have many methods of finding out what inventory is being sold on broker sites like Stubhub and Vivid Seats and immediately invalidating those tickets. If the ticket becomes invalidated, we are not responsible, and unfortunately the consumer could lose money and not get into the show.”
It seems to be working because the shows sold out quickly but neither of those sites had tickets listed for sale.
Don’t you wish ALL performers would take this stand? Perhaps it’s more difficult to keep track of a 20,000 plus venue.
